His Holiness the Dalai Lama Receives the Congressional Gold Medal

As you may know, the US House of Representatives voted on 13th September to award His Holiness the Dalai Lama the Congressional Gold Medal, which is the country's highest civilian honour, in recognition of his long-standing advocacy of religious harmony, non-violence, and human rights throughout the world and for his efforts to find a peaceful solution to the Tibet issue through dialogue with the Chinese leadership.

The award ceremony will take place in Washington D.C. on Wednesday 17 October. Sogyal Rinpoche and other lamas will be there to witness the event, and it will be broadcast live on the internet.
