Wonderful Long-Life Ceremony Conducted for Sogyal Rinpoche

Yesterday (Saturday, 16 May 2009), on the first warm, dry and sunny day in Lerab Ling for what has felt like aeons, Orgyen Tobgyal Rinpoche conducted a tenshyuk, or long life practice, for Sogyal Rinpoche in the Temple at Lerab Ling.

Following the advice of His Holiness Sakya Trizin, the Rigpa sangha offers a tenshyuk for Sogyal Rinpoche each year, requesting him to remain long in this world for the benefit of beings.

Even in the absence of Orgyen Tobgyal Rinpoche's monks, who usually lead the chanting, this year's ceremony went off without a hitch and the atmosphere was extremely joyous.

The ceremony, which included speeches by Orgyen Tobgyal Rinpoche and Patrick Gaffney, was also video-streamed live to about 300 students in forty Rigpa centres around the world.
