Announcing Rigpa Shedra East 2012

It has been confirmed that next year's Rigpa Shedra East will mark the beginning of tantric studies with teachings on Mipham Rinpoche's famous commentary on the Guhyagarbha Tantra, the Essence of Clear Light. Sogyal Rinpoche described this text by saying:
"Succinctly elucidating all the key points of the Ngagyur Nyingma tradition's profound approach to Secret Mantra, it is one of the peerless Mipham Rinpoche's most important works."
This will be the second time the text has been studied in Rigpa. The previous occasion was in 1997 when the late Khenpo Petse taught the text at Lerab Ling.
This course will be open to all senior students of the shedra who have a basis in sutrayana studies, but also to all Rigpa's Three Year Retreatants. The teachings will last for three months, providing opportunity to go into detail and gain a thorough understanding of the major themes. Students will be encouraged to stay in Pharping for an additional month of retreat immediately after the teachings, as an opportunity to put these precious instructions into practice.

Next year's shedra will also include a beginners' level class on the Bodhicharyavatara, based on the commentary of Khenpo Shenga and lasting for the full four months.

The exact dates and prices will be communicated later this year.

Meanwhile you can also follow Rigpa Shedra on Twitter, or become a fan of the Rigpa Shedra on Facebook.
