Sogyal Rinpoche in Bhutan

In April 2011, Sogyal Rinpoche spent 10 days in Bhutan, the only independent Vajrayana Buddhist country in the world and the birthplace of "Gross National Happiness". While in Bhutan, Rinpoche taught on "Compassionate Living, Fearless Dying" to over 2000 people in Thimphu.

He also spent time going on pilgrimage and practicing at some of the most sacred sites in the "Land of the Thunder Dragon" (Druk Yul)—as it is called in the national language of Dzongkha—ones that were even blessed in the 8th century by the great Buddhist saint, Guru Rinpoche, or Padmasambhava, himself.
