The next study programme at Rigpa Shedra East will be held in Pharping, near Kathmandu in Nepal from January 7th to April 14th 2013. For the first time we will offer three levels of studies, covering both Mahayana and Vajrayana teachings. New students will have the chance to immerse themselves in the study of Lojong—training the mind in wisdom and compassion—primarily focusing on Shantideva’s outstanding treatise on entering the Bodhisattva’s way of life—the Bodhicharyavatara.
Intermediate level students will further their studies with The Gateway to Knowledge by Jamgön Mipham Rinpoche.
More experienced students will have the chance to deepen their understanding of Vajrayana by studying the Guhyagarbha Tantra, one of the most important texts taught in the Nyingma tradition.
As usual, the course will include opportunity for clarification, discussion and contemplation, and will also feature Tibetan language classes at different levels.
More information, precise dates and details of how to apply can be found on the shedra website.
